Easter

Red Dirt Sisterhood

We had such a great time. The early morning coffee and Yoga, the early morning everything! What a great 2 day party! We had so much fun being weird together..... I loved the conversations with these like minded ladies... Great music, beautiful surroundings, incredible food, all the positive energy.. you couldn't ask for a better group.... I can't wait for Talequah with the 2 Liz's... they are going to be wonderful additions....

7 days of fishing

This post is ending a very long and good run of fishing, hiking, and general exploring of all kinds. I had such a good time and am sad that this little adventure is over..... If it were always like this I wouldn't appreciate it as much. Donnie had a gig for a couple days in Ark... so that led to us fishing the White... then we traveled the upper and lower Ill. on the way home. We stopped and visited with Crouch, explored a few small creeks and fished a tributary to the Ill. We went to a tried and true Rainbow hole and caught a freezer bag full of them..... I cleaned those fish and while I was doing so, one male in particular told me NO. I felt bad about cleaning him and tried to reason with him that it was already too late....but he still said NO. I am sure he will taste just fine.... I also took the kids fishing all 3 days over the weekend....We went up to the lake and caught some spectacular crappie that Donnie and I ate last night....They were wonderful..... During all of this the weather has been outstanding and I can't even begin to describe all the beautiful places I have been in the past week. Easter was perfect. We had a picnic in the state park, Mom made fried chicken, and we had tons of picnic goodies to go along with it, then we took a walk and then went fishing... I don't think Mom had ever fished with my kids before so that made it better.....The entire thing was topped off with a trip to get some new bike accesories and then a 8 mile ride with my true love.....Every time we go a little farther... What a great week!

A Sunday Hike

Sunday we went out to the State Park and hiked the trails.... We tracked an armadillo... and touched it...I caught a ringneck snake and we checked it out for a bit *and then let it go unharmed*.... We observed woodpecker holes, beaver busy work, and saw all kinds of birds, bugs and butterflys. We had a wonderful time. We picked up trash left by others and did everything you are supposed to do when on a trail. I just wish others would.....
I love days like this... When you can really enjoy who your children have become...I am proud of them, they are good people, full of love and laughter. I am glad that we all share a love of the outdoors....
Thad really wanted to take some good pictures of his Momma and Kenyon, I think he is developing quite an eye for photography.
Dillon touched the armadillo first, and is the one on top of the rock....
