Aunty Em and her Goats

We do... Do YOU?

Casey being pretty insistant about Moms fried chicken the other night.

At dinner on Wednesday the kids were asking if CC had made it home from Iraq yet.... then about 5 minutes after the dishes were put away guess who rings the doorbell! Here you see Kenyon catching him up on our summer vacation to Colorado. Welcome home CC.... We love you!

West of P-Town

Kenyon has been needing extra Momma Time and has come up with the idea to have me eat lunch twice a week with her and her friends at school. It's pretty cool especially when they have macaronie and cheese and green beans because it isn't gross that day. :) The Mid-High is way more packed than I remember it and I feel bad for some of the kids there because it is a total zoo.

I do love making Kenyon happy and I'm so lucky to be considered "cool" when she is in high school!

The Cat Tree

So we have a Cat Tree in our house next to the fish tank. It offers Mila and the others the opportunity to fish at all times, as well have have some thing to scratch, climb and generally raise hell on. This was the only model available in town, otherwise you can rest assured, we would have a much more deluxe and interesting model. I have to admit to you that I often peruse kitty web sites and Donnie and I fantasize about more interesting custom designs we could integrate into our home.

At night when it is time to go to bed I require a cat or two for the ultimate sleeping experience. It is a given that Casey will be perched on Donnie's chest and it seems to be the luck of the draw * as to what cat or cats I can attract for the night and in what order. I tend to go to bed before all household activity is done and sometimes have to procure a cat from the tree for this purpose if none respond to my "cat calls".

There being a "cat tree" in the home it occurred to me that what I am doing is picking the "ripe fruit" of the tree...

What lovely fruit it is... I love my meows!

*This being the result of the lose of my precious Atchi Meow Wood. My kitty soul-mate who was taken much too soon from me and will always be missed greatly.

This photo should show to you what a really great sport Atchi was.... this was a few years ago and my sister in law had a snugli in her van when she was up for a visit with her babies... I tried it on and we stuck Atchi in it who didn't seem to mind in the least and I don't think he ever really wanted out of the thing.... what a sweet, sweet kitty he was!

Bathtime for Meows

Yesterday was bath day for the meows. Despite much Howling and Yowling I managed to get thru the entire procedure without any permanent scars, but I sure was soaked! I did get a rather large hole inflicted upon my t shirt by Casey, but it was a Stoney Larue shirt so it's fine by me. Miss Meowgi was the easiest, but she gets a bath (including creme rinse) every few days as she is too young to put any chemicals on and I want to keep her free of fleas.

Don't they look pathetic and cute at the same time? It really is in their best interest to keep the fleas off them, but you just can't explain it all to them and make them understand.

I think Casey got his revenge on me today when I walked over to him to see what he was playing with in the grass and he flipped a live mouse on my bare foot!

Bartlesville's Oklahoma Centennial Parade

Lots of cool stuff to see... Clowns, Horses, Bands, Floats, Candy, Candy and more Candy! Thads ball cap quickly became a depository for candy and soon it was overflowing! We caught flying buffalo and a few baseballs. We saw firetrucks, Veterans of War, and Pioneer Men and Women... It was fun if you didn't mind the heat...the best part of course is the "swelling of pride" (haha.. what is that commercial?) I get when I see my beautiful daughter marching in the band. (Marching straight to a college scholarship hopefully!) I'm so proud of her... I could just dance with glee!

Donnie wore dorky shorts to the parade and could have killed him.... but whatever. Who knows what weird thing I did that I didn't even know about!

I made the boys clap with me for the vetrans... and it bothered me that I didn't see many others following suit... Sad. Other than that, same old B'ville people doing the same ole B'ville stuff.... But all in all a decent parade.

Oh, and is Earl Sears like Bartlesville's newest Rock Star or what? Holy cow!

I'm so proud of my girl!

Thad made out like a bandit!
